Publication Procedure and Estimated Timelines

The Wah Academia Journal of Global Religions follows a structured and transparent editorial workflow to ensure academic integrity, timely publication, and rigorous peer review. Below is an overview of our publication procedure along with estimated timelines.

  1. Submission
  • Frequency: Submissions are accepted year-round.
  • Mode: Online via the OJS submission portal.
  • Acknowledgment: Authors receive an automated confirmation email upon successful submission.

       Estimated Time: Immediate

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
  • Manuscripts are reviewed by the editorial team to ensure they meet basic quality standards and fit within the journal’s scope.
  • Submissions that do not meet the requirements are returned to authors with suggestions or desk rejection.

       Estimated Time: 1–2 weeks

  1. Peer Review Process
  • Double-blind peer review is conducted by at least two subject experts.
  • Reviewers evaluate the paper's originality, relevance, methodology, and clarity.
  • Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on feedback.

     Estimated Time: 4–6 weeks

  1. Revision & Resubmission
  • Authors are given time to incorporate reviewers’ suggestions.
  • Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated either by the editors or the same reviewers.

    Estimated Time for Authors: 2–3 weeks

  1. Final Decision & Acceptance
  • The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the reviewers and section editors, makes the final decision (accept, minor/major revision, or reject).
  • Accepted articles proceed to the copyediting stage.

       Estimated Time: 1 week

  1. Copyediting & Proofreading
  • Manuscripts are professionally copyedited to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to journal formatting.
  • Authors review final proofs before publication.

      Estimated Time: 1–2 weeks

  1. Publication
  • The journal publishes issues on a quarterly basis:
    • March
    • June
    • September
    • December

       Accepted papers are scheduled based on the next available issue.

Total Estimated Timeline:

8–12 weeks from submission to publication, depending on the review process and timely response by authors.
